Hannah's birthday scrapbooking party

Last week we held our first scrapbooking birthday party for Hannah - there were 16 girls, all aged around 6-8, and we had stamping, embossing and lots of cutting and sticking!   Mum had bought frames for all the finished pages and here are a couple to show off... Aly's Cake for Amanda's 40th

What a busy weekend its been - we had an 8 year olds birthday party on Friday afternoon making scrapbooking pages in a frame (will get photos and upload from Mum - forgot to take my camera!!) , then my own son's 5th birthday party on Saturday morning for 26 children and an amazing Spongebob cake... then last night was my older sister's 40th birthday fundraiser in aid of Myeloma UK and Brainwaves NI.

Childrens Craft Class starting this Saturday

Our childrens arts & crafts classes start up again this week - we have two different classes - one on  Saturday mornings at 9.30am with Aisling, and our afterschool class on Wednesdays starting next week with Betty.  

We are running 6 week blocks of classes: 

1 hour of creative time

classes cost £5.00 per week

different project each week

all materials provided

suitable for children aged 5-11  years

Herman the German

In our house this week we have been 'cultivating' Herman the German - Herman is a sourdough cake mix, originating from the Amish community tradition of  giving out a sourdough bread to the needy and sick.    My pilates instructor Lindsay gave me a little tinfoil tray of mix last week with a sheet of instructions - Herman sits in a bowl in the kitchen and you 'feed' him every few days and stir every day - great fun for the kids.   We have just taken the finished results out of the oven and I am quite intrigued to see what he tastes like!!

Childrens Classes sorted for September

We have our new childrens class tutor signed up and we are beginning our classes in a few weeks.  Betty will be taking the afterschool class on Wednesdays at 3pm to 4pm, and Aisling will be taking our Saturday morning weekly class at 9.30am to 10.30am.   All kids classes will be £5.00 per head and are aimed at children in the younger half of primary school - so thats from P1 to P4.
